September has arrived! New starts for all!

Hello!

It’s September which means there is plenty going on.  This post is a quick rundown of what’s happening this month, there will be plenty more detail to follow over the rest of the week!

So, starting with TODAY!  Every Tuesday we have a lunch in church at 12noon.  We ask for a donation of £1, but no-one is looking.  We follow lunch with a service of Holy Communion at 12.45.  All are welcome and we’re usually a small group, so if you want to drop by for a chat and some lunch feel free, you don’t have to stay for the service if you don’t want to.

Tomorrow sees the return of Coffee in the Carpark (now on Wednesday and brought to you with help from our friends at Manna).

Tomorrow night is our discipleship group, learning more about following Jesus together.

Sunday is the cake sale and you’re welcome services.

Next week Alpha starts again on Thursday 15th and we’re also excited about the barn dance on the 24th.  So keep your eyes open, more details about all these things will trickle through over the coming days.

We can’t wait to see you at something soon!

CAKE SALE

Who doesn’t love a good cake sale?

We’re having one on Sunday 11th September between our two services to raise money for the Church building project.  You can help by…

Making a cake

Buying a cake

Making a cake and buying a cake!

If you can’t make the services, but can’t resist good cake, feel free to pop in between 10.30 and 11am…

(Did I mention there will be cake?)

The Harvest Barn Dance

We are having a barn dance on 24th September 2016.

All the proceeds will go towards our building project, putting a toilet and kitchen in the Church and improving accessibility for everyone.

It’s going to be a fab night, find out more and book tickets online here.

Summer Sundays

Hello!

The Summer is almost upon us.  We’ve got some changes in service times to make you aware of.  We hope to see you at one of our services this August!

Bonanza!

This Sunday is the annual Bentley Bonanza and Gala at Bentley Park.  As always it’s a great community event and there are lots of stands to look at and lots to do.

St Peter’s has it’s own stand this year.  We are offering a free crown making craft for the children and showcasing all the different ways St Peter’s might be able to help you.

Come on over and say hello!

Sunday 1-5pm, Bentley Park.

Strawberry Tea and other delights!

There’s plenty going on over the next few weeks at St Peter’s.  Our usual services continue, 9.30 trad and 11am family focussed.  We also have some special events lined up.

June 29th is St Peter’s Day.  The foundation stone for the church was laid on St Peter’s Day in 1891, 125 years ago.  We’re having a special communion service on Wednesday night at 7.30pm, followed by fizz and cake, so come celebrate with us.

Then on Sunday 3rd July we’re having Strawberry Tea in the Vicarage Garden at 3pm.  Bring a sunhat and come chill out with sandwiches, cake, tea and (of course) strawberries.  (£3.50 for over 10s, £1 for under 10s).  There will be a raffle too and all the money raised will go to the building project to improve disabled access to the church and to put in toilets and a kitchen too.

We can’t wait!  See you there!

Voter Registration closes today…

Polling Station

You may be aware that there is a referendum to decide whether or not the UK should remain part of the European Union or leave the European Union.  It’s on the 23rd June.

As Christians we should be thinking carefully about how we vote, but most important today is making sure you *can* vote.  You can register online before midnight tonight.  If you didn’t get a polling card for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections you aren’t registered and need to so you can have your say…

This Sunday…

There is only one service at St Peter’s this Sunday (29th May) at 9.30am.  All are welcome to join us at the traditional service.  The next st peter’s together service will take place on 5th June.

Please don’t come at 11!  You’ll be disappointed.

Free Money…

pile of money

Are you an online shopper?  If you are, you can help St Peter’s without it costing you a penny!  Have a look to see if the shops you use are included on this website, if you click through to the shop from the site a % of what you spend is donated to St Peter’s.  So, you get what you were buying anyway, St Peter’s get’s free cash! Genius!

Pentecost Picnic

picnic basket

Hopefully the sun is here to stay!

We have a great chance to make the most of it this Sunday at St Peter’s.  We’re celebrating Pentecost with a picnic in the Vicarage garden.  The picnic will start at 12noon, straight after st peter’s together.

Bring something to eat and something to sit on and a jumper if it turns a little chilly.  There will be a (free) bouncy castle too!

So that’s Church at 9.30am (traditional) and 11am (families) and picnic and bouncy castle at 12noon, this Sunday 15th May!
