Free Peace

Posted in Sunday

If you’re feeling frazzled this morning, why not come to church?  The number one thing people say they feel when they come into church is peace and focus.  Come and find it for yourself!  This morning at 9.30am (traditional) and 11am (informal with activities for children).

Reading this too late?  There’s always next week, same time. See you there.

Tomorrow (Sunday 11th Feb 2018)

Posted in events, and Sunday

Tomorrow is Sunday!  Yay!

We‘ve got an action packed morning planned starting at 9.30 with Parish Eucharist – our traditional service.  At 11am is st peter’s together our informal service with activities for children.

At 12noon it’s church lunch, everyone is invited to bring and share some food and spend an hour together eating as a family in the Church Hall.  What should you bring?  Anything you can share, a plate of sandwiches, some crisps, a cake, some bread and butter, fruit, a pudding anything really!  Somehow it all works out and there’s usually a great spread!  It’s a bit like the feeding of the 5,000 but with fewer people and more food 🙂

See you tomorrow!

Next Week (11th-17th Feb 2018)

Posted in The Notices

Wondering what’s on next week?  It’s a quieter one because of half term…

Sunday 11th Feb: Our two church services as usual, 9.30am traditional, 11am informal with activities for children.  12noon Church Lunch, bring some food to share in the Church Hall.  It’s always fun and a chance to be together.

Tuesday 13th Feb: Shrove Tuesday aka Pancake Day.  No church events, but remember to eat your pancakes and think about what you want to give up for lent from tomorrow.

Wednesday 14th Feb: Ash Wednesday.  There is a special service at 7.30pm to remind us as we start Lent that we are not the centre of the universe.  But God loves us anyway.  We do that by marking the cross on our forehead with ashes.  Revd Mark Wigglesworth is coming to take the service.  If you’ve never been to one before, it’s worth trying it out.

Sunday 18th Feb: Church again!  9.30am traditional and 11am informal with activities for children.

Easy Money

Posted in news

No one really likes talking about money.  It’s not a popular subject.  But we just wanted to draw your attention to a way of giving away money FOR FREE!  Easy money!

If you shop on the internet, you can raise cash donations for a range of charities (including St Peter’s) using a company called Easy Fundraising.  It’s dead simple and doesn’t cost you a penny.  If you pay tax you can even gift aid the donations you raise making them worth even more without it costing you a penny.

How! How! I hear you ask, just click on this link and sign up with easyfundraising and help your favourite church do more for nothing!

Ta da!

Free Coffee!

Posted in events

Tomorrow morning is coffee in the carpark.  Free coffee or tea from 8.45 til 9.15am.  It’s our last one before we take a break for half term.  No strings, chat if you want, grab one and go if you’re in a hurry.

See you in the morn

What’s on today? If you’re reading this in the morning you’re in luck!

Well, there’s a traditional communion at 9.30am. (If you’re interested it’s common worship, order 1). At 11am there’s an informal service with activities for children. Both last around an hour and we’re really pleased to have Bishop Pete, the Bishop of Sheffield joining us at both.

If you’re reading this in the afternoon, you missed out! Sorry!

What are we singing tomorrow…

Posted in Sunday

I hear you ask. Well I won’t reveal all, there have to be some surprises in life. But we will be singing One Way at the 11am. We love the actions/dances that City Bible Church put together, this is their video of One Way!

I’ll leave you to decide if I look more like him, or Catherine looks more like her…
