Electoral Roll

Every Church of England church has a Parochial Church Council (or PCC) which is responsible for running it.  PCC members are elected for three years at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM).  The next APCM is on the 22nd April, so in preparation we are required to tidy up our electoral roll.

The electoral roll is the closest thing we have at church to a membership list.  To sign up you need to be baptised and declare yourself a member of the Church of England.  If you live in our parish that’s all there is to it.  If you live in another parish, you have to have been worshipping at St Peter’s for at least six months regularly (let’s say at least once a month).

You’ve got until the 18th March to get your name on the list, so if you want to sign up, pick up a form on Sunday!

Next Week (4th – 11th March 2018)

This week has much to commend it and hopefully the weather will be a little bit more springlike!

Sunday 4th March: With services at 9.30am (traditional) and 11am (informal with activities for children) there’s never a better time to join in with the family than this Sunday.  Our prayer is that every week we leave church having met with Jesus and ready to face the week ahead…

Tuesday 6th March: Little Fishes from 9ish til 10.45.  For all under reception age.  Play, sensory activities, drinks, snacks, songtime.  £1 per family per session.

Wednesday 7th March: Coffee in the carpark.  Grab a free tea or coffee from us in the church carpark between 8.45 and 9.15.  Hang around and chat to us, or grab one and go.  We were there in the snow this Wednesday and whatever the weather throws at us next week we’ll be there!

Morning prayer in church after coffee in the carpark.  20 minutes to refocus on God and offer the day to Him.

Connect returns to the Vicarage, 7.30pm for coffee and chat for an 8pm start.

Thursday 8th March:  If you’re already doing Alpha, it carries on this evening.

Friday 9th March:  Morning Prayer in church at 9am.  20 minutes to focus on God and ask for His help for the day.

Saturday 10th March:  Nothing much is happening today.  Enjoy!

Sunday 11th March: Church again, and it’s Mothering Sunday.  9.30am traditional and 11am informal with activities for children.  Gifts for the ladies at both services.

Grit and determination

Ok, so this isn’t the path to our church, but like this path, the one to our church has been gritted and will be gritted again before Sunday.  Keep warm, but don’t let the weather keep you from joining us on Sunday morning!

Naturally Supernatural

At St Peter’s we want to get better at listening to God and seeing Him at work in our lives and in Bentley.  One place The Vicarages have really learning about this is Soul Survivor.  Soul Survivor is a youth camp that attracts tens of thousands of young people each summer, but last year they started a family/grown up version called naturally supernatural.  The Vicarages went last year and we’re going again this summer.  This video gives you a flavour of what goes on there.  If you want to book on, speak to Dave or Catherine…

All Change!

The times they are a changin’.  On the 25th March we put our clocks forward an hour and lose an hours sleep.  But if you come to our 11am service there is good news!  The 11am is becoming the 4pm from that Sunday onwards.  Doors open for tea, coffee and biscuits at 3.45pm and the service starts at 4.  Not been for a while, or never tried out church?  This is a great opportunity to give us a go!  (We’re still on at 11am until then, so don’t be a stranger!).
