Hearts and Minds

Hearts and Minds is a chance to explore what the Church teaches about our relationships and our sex lives. The Course is made up of six sessions.

Session 1: Identity
What makes me who I am?

Session 2: Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus (apparently)
What makes men and women different? Sex, gender and feminism.

Session 3: Sex and Singleness
Surely sex is so important that you can’t expect unmarried people to be celibate…

Session 4: To have and to hold
Why is marriage so special anyway.

Session 5: Rainbow
How should the church respond to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex people?

Session 6: Living in love and faith
Where is the Church of England (and where is it going)?

Some of the content sounds heavy, but we’ll make it as interactive and engaging as possible. You are allowed to have your own opinion on things, and to share it. Whilst we think there are things that are clearly ‘orthodox’ Christian belief and things that aren’t, we are not about brainwashing. We will be putting forward a traditional view, but we believe that stands up to scrutiny, so don’t be afraid to disagree, and if you’re not persuaded, you don’t have to leave the church!
